Try our most popular and recommended setting:
CC MODE: On Mute
This setting pops up a profanity-free version of the muted phrase, so you can better follow the dialog.
MAKE SURE THE HOPPER CC IS TURNED ON, TOO! There's a popup window labled CC Disabled that will cover the CC MODE when the Hopper CC is OFF. Select Turn CC ON.
If TVGuardian ever stops working, or you stop seeing the TVG icon pop up in the lower left corner of you TV screen, most likely, this is the solution; just turn the Hopper/Joey CC to ON.
New small black Hopper remote: While watching TV, press the Options button, then change the Hopper Closed-Captioning to ON.
Old style Hopper remote: Press the green button to toggle CC ON.
It's really a matter of personal preference on the other TVGuardian App filter settings. Please refer to the Settings, Tips and Tricks article.
Some Quick Tips:
- If you think it's muting too much, try turning OFF the Hell/Damn filter. These words trigger the most mutes. Note: In the OFF setting GD is still muted.
- Try the TVGuardian MODERATE setting. It will catch all but the mildest words.
- If you don't want to hear the name of God and Jesus used in vain, turn the Religious Filter to ON. You'll need to turn this filter OFF when watching a show that has a religious theme.
